Viking Rise doesn’t try to hide what it is — a full-on Norse mythology RTS that throws you into chaotic battles before you’ve even figured out where your resources are going. And honestly? After spending a serious amount of time in games like this, that kind of learning curve is part of the appeal. You’re not just clicking through menus. You’re building something, watching it fall apart, and rebuilding smarter.
The core loop is straightforward enough: raise armies, manage your city’s resources, pick commanders who actually complement your strategy, and survive whatever the game decides to throw at you next. Each commander comes with their own skill set, so there’s real experimentation involved in figuring out which combinations work. Some players sleep on this and just go with whoever looks the coolest — which, fair enough, the character designs are genuinely solid.
What tends to catch people off guard early on is the resource management side. It’s not complicated in theory, but in practice you’ll feel it the moment you try to upgrade two buildings at once and realize you’re completely drained. That tension is kind of the point. Viking Rise is free-to-play on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and like most games in this space, the economy is designed to keep you slightly stretched.
That’s where redeem codes actually become useful — not game-breaking, but enough to take the edge off when you’re stuck waiting on a resource timer.

Worth noting: a few of these are time-sensitive or have limited uses, so copy-pasting directly into the redeem window is the way to go rather than typing them out manually.

How to Redeem Codes in Viking Rise
It’s a bit buried in the UI the first time you look for it — here’s where to go:
- Tap your Avatar icon in the top-left corner of the screen
- Open the menu and navigate to Settings
- Look for the gift box icon on the far right side of that tab
- Enter your code and hit Redeem
Your rewards show up in-game after that. Nothing gets mailed to you or sent to an inbox — it lands directly, which is convenient once you know where to look.
Why Some Codes Aren’t Working
This comes up more than it should, so here’s what’s usually going on:
The code expired. Even codes without a listed expiration date sometimes quietly stop working after a while — the developer doesn’t always publicize when that happens.
Capitalization is off. These codes are case-sensitive. One wrong letter and it won’t register. Copying and pasting is genuinely the better move here, especially for codes with numbers and symbols mixed in (looking at you, VR2TH?NKS).
You’ve already used it. Each code is a one-time redemption per account. If you’ve claimed it before, it won’t stack — even if you used it months ago.
Usage cap reached. A handful of codes have a hard limit on total redemptions across all players. If the community got to it early, it might just be gone.
Region lock. Some codes are distributed specifically for certain markets and simply won’t work outside of them. This one’s frustrating because there’s no workaround — it either works in your region or it doesn’t.
