Burn Pile:

During the Burn Season:

1. The burn pile is open by appointment with a 24 hour notice. 

    For access call Audrey @ 503-780-0513 (cell), Blythe @ 503-680-2849 or

    Darrell @ 503-622-6801.

 2. The burn pile is open with no appointment on advertised burn days, these will be

         posted on all bulletin boards.                 

 ** Note: Please do not call with your truck loaded expecting to be let in the burn 

       pile immediately, personnel are not always available to unlock the gate.

  

Allowable Burn Materials:

1. Natural yard debris which includes

   a. Small branches and limbs smaller than 12 inches around and non-treated wood.

    b. Christmas trees. 

   c. Leaves – grass – pine needles may be added to an ACTIVELY BURING pile only 

 

Not Allowed On Burn Pile:

1. No large tree rounds or material to heavy for 1 person to easily move.

2. No small debris that packs down, including tree needles, grass and leaves. 

4. Absolutely NO plastic bags or toxic causing materials. 

 

During Advertised Burn Days:

Any member may bring a load of debris to the burn pile.

1. Harder to burn materials such as:  Leaves, raked up pine needles or grass may be

    added to the burning pile; help in burning your material will be appreciated.

 

Dumping or Piling Debris on a NON-Burning Pile:

During the burn season Rim members may add to the pile.

1.  Please place debris ON TOP of the existing pile and NOT on the sides.

2.  The tarp must be removed to add debris and replaced back on pile.      

3. The tarp must be placed securely in position to keep it from blowing off.

4.  DO NOT under any circumstances cover the tarp with branches or debris.

5.  All debris must originate from members lot(s)

 

Reasons for the Burn Pile Being Closed:

1.  When the burn pile is full and needs to be burned.

2.  Pile is still hot from previous burn.

3.  When burn season is closed during the summer months.

4.  When personnel are unavailable to unlock gate.

5.  The burn pile conditions are ever changing although we try we may not be able to

Burn Pile Policy

 When the Hoodland Fire Department opens the burn season members may drop off debris at the burn pile… When the burn season is CLOSED… no more dumping is allowed.
